Why don't you have petrolatum in your wax? - Dreadlocks FAQ's
Our Dread Wax is completely free of petrolatum because petrolatum lubricates the hair and causes the dreads to slip apart. It also has a tendency to make the dreads feel wet and squishy. Most petrolatum products slow and even prevent the dreading process in straight hair. Most products available on the market for textured hair contain petrolatum. These products are intended to add shine and scent to braids and corn rows, but they do not provide the hold necessary to benefit the locking process.
